Mrs. Khuu - a little about me

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to our class website. My name is Mrs. Khuu and I teach 6th and 7th grade Science at JHS 194. My goal is to help your child move up in every way possible but also make sure they are enjoying my class and having fun.

I was born and raised in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and moved to Fresh Meadows, Queens in 2021. I attended Queens College for my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Childhood Education. After a year, I attended Brooklyn College to extend my license in Special Education. Before becoming a teacher, I worked in the DOE as a paraprofessional for 5 years where I learned a lot from my co-workers. I have been working in the education field for 10 years and it has been an amazing experience for me!

During my free time, I like to catch up on my shows on Netflix/Hulu/MAX, go shopping, trying to new food places (I am a huge foodie) and traveling. I have been to Shanghai, Beijing, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong and the UK. I have yet to explore Singapore, Malaysia, and Korea as they are on my bucket list.

Also, I speak 3 dialects of Chinese (Shanghainese, Mandarin, and Cantonese). I know a little bit of Spanish and hope to learn more.

Don't ever be afraid or nervous to reach out and contact me. I will always try to do what I can. I can be reached by email at: [email protected]

Looking forward to a fabulous year :)
